Cecelia Campbell was born and raised in Southern California where she worked in corporate marketing. On the side, she honed her artistic skills under some of the region’s finest artists: Jeff Horn (oil), Susan Sarback (palette knife), and Albert Handell (pastels).

After leaving the corporate world, she divided her time between being a docent for Southern California’s rapidly dwindling estuaries and open land preserves, and plein air painting in those same areas. Her California works have been represented in the SoCalPapa art shows and in the San Clemente Art Gallery.

Then she discovered the low country. It was a match made in heaven …pristine marshes, wilderness areas, and wide-open beaches … all just waiting to be painted. She moved to Pawleys Island in 2006, and has been painting low country scenes ever since.

Building upon the lessons learned in her plein air training, her work is impressionistic, and frequently smaller in format. Whenever conditions permit, she still paints on site, and all of her paintings are based upon actual low country vistas.

She is currently a member of the Charleston Artist Guild , the Seacoast Artist Guild, and the Waccamah Art and Craft Guild,. Her artwork can be found at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery in Charleston SC, The St Leos University Gallery in No Charleston, SC, and at many of her local guilds’ shows.

Cecelia Campbell joined Fine Art America on February 13th, 2012.
