Clarissa Burton began painting in May 2013 at the age of 50. It was one of the most spiritually renewing experiences for her. Since then, she has painted more than 60 pieces. I live in the Midwest. I'm the mother of three and grandmother.
Clarissa Burton aka Queen Of The Pen™, International Investigative Journalist and Womanist Media Historian, writes poetry and short stories. She has published in the Charleston Post-Courier, the KC Star, Flourish Magazine, and the KC Small Business Monthly. She is the founder of Queen of the Pen Books™ and QOTP-Artwork™, websites; currently writes for BlogHer, CNN iReport, HubPages, and Yahoo. She believes that life provides her many opportunities to capture stories to share with the world. She has published seven books: Travel – A Poetry Compilation; Elijah’s Great Race; and The Black Family Tree™ -a workbook and facilitator’s manual, Faces ~ Samantha, Princess Onyx™ Precious Gems, Micah’s Grumpy Day, and Rex ~ the Nerdy Centipede. Clarissa is Navy veteran who served from 1984 to 1990. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Ottawa University, an M.A. in Business from Webster University, and an Ed.S from Walden University. She’s the mother of 3 and grandmother. She currently lives in the Midwest with her cat, Bootsie.
