PBS personality, Kathy Corday, has let the world in on a little secret: she is also quite an accomplished photographer. Ms, Corday complements her interviews with David Foster, Sting, Steven Tyler, Chris Botti, John Mayer, Josh Grobin, Yanni, Cirque de Soleil, and Celtic Woman with soulful images from around the world. For over 30 years, she traveled the world to document the variety of manifestations known as modern day society. Believing that magic happens in the blink of an eye, she revels in the often unnoticed beauty of everyday objects, circumstances, and events. Her ambitious journey of discovery prompts her turn many of her subjects on axis to unmask their inherent graphic beauty. If there is a kernel of a story to be told, she wants to tell it. In 2012, Corday published her first, limited-edition, photographic portfolio entitled, In The Blink of An Eye. Having worked with the Smithsonian, Walt Disney Imagineering, National Geographic, and the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department, she also taught photography at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Virginia. Honored with awards and publications including the 1990-1991 Women In Photography International worldwide exhibition, Corday’s image Purple Tulip No. 1 received an Honorable Mention for Professional: Flowers from the 2012 International Photography Awards. In Santa Monica, California, she exhibited alongside her colleagues at the WIPI booths at photo l.a. 2011, 2012, and 2013 exhibitions where Corday's Gray series was voted into the Top 10 Portfolios by Emerging Focus. Her work is currently on display in Los Angeles as part of a group exhibition entitled, One Shot: Spaces at The Loft at Liz’s as part of the Month of Photography Los Angeles (MOPLA) and International Photography Awards.
