For over half a century, the watercolors of C. Normart have been inspired by the endless vistas of California. Broad fields and clustered farm buildings, the towering Sierra, harbors and coastlines and cities from Los Angeles to San Francisco but especially the ever evolving downtown of his native Fresno.
His work has garnered awards and been shown in venues from California to New York and is included in private collections across the country.
In addition to his prolific output of paintings, Normart received international recognition when he was commissioned to design and supervise the reconstruction of the dome over the tomb of Jesus Christ in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. The agreement for this restoration was deemed “a turning point for all of Christendom” by the Armenian patriarch of Jerusalem. As a result of his time in the Holy Land, he produced a series of paintings of Jerusalem and the Middle East.
Normart has also designed and constructed numerous dalle de verre installations for churches and institutions in Central California as well as sculptures of metal and glass.
He continues to work in various mediums with a wide variety of subject matter in his Fresno, California studio.

Corky Normart joined Fine Art America on July 9th, 2014.
