Michael Melant was born in the Canal Zone, now the country of Panama, Central America. Mr Melant has had no formal training and is self-taught. After he retired he was finally able to pursue his passion for Wildlife and Art. These illustrations are of wildlife from the Colorado Rockies area (Sangre de Cristo mountain range, 'Blood of Christ' mountains due to the purple-red hue they exhibit around 6:45-7:00 am.)
