Born in Edmonton, Alberta,Canada, Daniel Kansky studied Fine Arts at the University of Alberta. During his early training he won several scholarships to study art through the Banff School of Fine Arts and the Edmonton Public Art Gallery. He also gained practical training in commercial art at the Victoria Vocational and Composite High School also in Edmonton.
