My background is in math and science, and although my artistic interests aren't limited to those topics, that training does inform my work. I am interested in randomness, perception, and complex systems. For my abstract pieces, I generally come up with an algorithm, or process, that guides the creation of the work. As my day-to-day work is on the computer, I greatly prefer the process of making art by hand over digital creation. The collages featured here are all hand-cut and are made from a variety of sources, ranging from old travel books to science magazines.more
