Abstracts using incredible texture is the main focus of my paintings and I tend to use copious amounts of thick, sticky gesso to build a textured foundation for my works before adding my desired colors. While I use a variety of materials and processes in each piece, my methodology is consistent. The concrete, enveloping nature of this work frees my imagination and provides many opportunities for happy accident and grace to influence the finished product.
