Daryl-Ann Dartt Hurst was born in Palmdale, California, and spent her first 31 years in southern California. She received her BA in Art at California State University, Northridge, California and did a year of post-graduate work in Art there, as well. In 1986, she relocated to New England. Dartt Hurst began showing in juried competitions and exhibitions in 1978.
