David was born in England, where he lived all his life until settling in the United States in his thirties. He began painting around this time, where his interest in art in general was increasing as he perceived it was a perfect channel to his ideas and creativity. David attended South Thames College in London. He spends most of his time on art in various pursuits of self expression including prose, poetry and photography, but his passion is abstract art and expressionism.

As a mixed media artist David enjoys working with wood, canvas and paper.David's paintings evoke emotions using intense and varied combinations of color. He has developed a distinctive style towards form and color using a variety of techniques and applications David is a self-taught artist with a passion for photography and abstract painting.. He has sold his work to collectors in the USA, and the UK.

Painting to me is not just painting. It is a creation of color, texture and form on different surfaces. My paintings use multiple layers of acrylics, pastels, watercolors and/or oils which are blended in unpredictable and different techniques and applications.

I tend to use whatever I can get my hands on. Never quite sure how things are going to turn out. I usually meditate before the process and try to be in the moment of both painting and being the painter. My influences include California nature as well as artists such as Sam Francis and Rex Yuasa and then of course there is my mood.

I find joy in art and being unsure of the outcome always lends itself to a sense of adventure. There is no inner critic to silence during the process, that comes later. I just try to embrace the process and get swept in the spirit of it. There is a lot of creating, destroying and recreating. I refer to this as 'Rogue' art as it is impossible to duplicate the same painting twice.
