Being born in Detroit and having lived all my life in Motown, cars would only naturally become a subject for my artistic expression.
My Automotive work tends to be not merely a photo with a filter applied, but carefully crafted digital paintings designed to capture the beauty of the subject car. I work in a rather traditional manner, avoiding the use of filters and digital tricks preferring to paint what I want using a Wacom Cintiq LCD display drawing tablet and programs like Photoshop and Corel Painter. This affords me the freedom to create images I want and not just what a photos allows, All the advantages of traditional media but without having to clean brushes.
Because these are digital I work LARGE! creating high resolution images that can capture fine detail and subtile textures and permit the best in print reproduction.
