I'm inspired by the changing seasons, misty hills, sunlight through trees, the colours in every sunset, clouds like mountain ranges, frost, snow and ice, wide sweeping moorland and spring woodlands, faces and figures, family and friends and strangers. Landscapes and seascapes are my major subjects but I also paint portraits and figures - usually in acrylics but also in oils and watercolours. I get lots of inspiration by walking through the Pennines - I love the mix of moorland landscape and industrial townscape in this area.
