As humans, what we call our existence is made-up of things, people, sounds, and incidents that we experience. Artwork is a multi-layered reflection of all of those elements produced in a meditative-like state. My work is no different. It is made up of childhood experiences, people that I love, mythological stories that I come across, and the walls of the city where I live. My perceptions change from minute to minute and my feelings change along. No two experiences are the same and no two people are identical. That's why I don't believe in forcing my work to be consistent, it feels unnatural. The only things that remains the same are the hand gestures, the fundamental understanding of things, and techniques employed for every piece of work. Whether I am painting with spray paint, acrylic, or ink - the approach is basically the but the actual execution is adapted to each medium.
I was born in Ukraine when it was still a republic of the USSR. I came to the United States in my mid-teens, and have been living in New York City ever since.
