Donna Stubbs is an artist working in acrylic, collage, image transfer and mixed media. She offers classes and workshops at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro, NC. Her work can be found in local galleries in and around Chapel Hill and Carrboro, NC. Donna grew up in Mt. Airy, NC and studied painting at Guilford College and interior design at the Corcoran College of Art & Design.
She uses a variety of materials in her work to build rich surfaces and create texture. Acrylic paint, gel media, dress patterns, old magazines, found objects, maps, tissue paper, and her own photography are just a few of the items she includes in her work. She is process oriented and loves combining paint, collage and drawing materials. She works rapidly and often rubs images out, sands her pieces, builds multiple layers, and make marks with her fingers to achieve the final image.
Donna Stubbs joined Fine Art America on February 23rd, 2015.
