I was born and was raised in the Philippines by a very creative mother. She exposed me at an early age to different forms of art, such as theater, musicals, interior design and an incredible personal collection of masterpieces by renowned Filipino artists. I loved all forms of art and creativity ran deep in my soul, but I never imagined that I could actually paint...much less with palette knives.
My love affair with the palette knives began on a summer day in 2012, when my husband forced our family to join in as he taught his very first art workshop. He started teaching us to paint using a brush but, quickly after, I discovered the palette knife and I never looked back. Little did I know that, 2 years later, becoming a professional Visual Artist was part of God's plan for me. It is beyond what I could ever imagine. Only God could have made a 'palette knife artist' out of me...and I am ever so grateful that He used my husband to bring it out into manifestation.
I believe that to live is to create. It has been a very humbling experience for me that people would appreciate my art and give it a home. My art is the deepest expression of the 'me' I have never met before. I always meet her for the first time every time I create. Art is one of my most intimate experiences I have with God. He is truly the creative genius in us all. I feel His Spirit move in me whenever I create. The Art of Ela is born from that passion.
My deepest desire is that each artwork will inspire people to behold God's beauty, experience His touch and awaken in them a wonder for life,
