ELIZABETH GAWRONSKI BIOGRAPHY

Elizabeth Gawronski is pictured with her oil painting titled 'Winter in New York' at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center in Decatur, Alabama in January, 2005. Elizabeth Gawronski began painting with acrylics but has now expanded into other media including oils, watercolors, and pastels. Her motto is 'Creativity On and On.' She has recently (2004) been juried into the 'Colors of the Season' art show and sale at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center in Decatur, Alabama (CVAC). She was judged 'Best in Acrylics' at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Art League Show in Fayetteville, Tennessee, and was a 'Limelight Series Artist' at the Huntsville Art League in 2002. She is a member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama (WSA). She has studied art under many talented and professional artists including Chuck Long, Ed Starnes, Shifra Stein, Wayne Spradley, Jean W. Wood, Helen J. Vaughn, and others. She continues to expand her horizons through travel and workshops. Many of her painting are of places she has visited. Among her favorite subjects are flowers from her garden. She has exhibited her paintings and other art decor at the Monte Sano Art Show and Sale atop Monte Sano Mountain in Huntsville, Alabama. She is a graduate of Florida State University (B.S.) and the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, Alabama (BAMA) (M.A., Ed.S.). Mrs. Gawronski displayed her painting 'Japanese Bridge' at The Atrium Gallery located in The Madison County Public Library, June 23-October 1, 2005, as part of the Bicentenniel Celebration of the City of Huntsville, Alabama. The bridge is a landmark of the City of Huntsville and was presented as a gesture of good will and friendship by a Japanese General officer. Mrs. Gawronski is currently a student of art professional/instructor Ms. Ashley Irelan who is an illustrator and animation artist who conducts artistic workshops and gives private lessons.
Mrs. Gawronski also took decorative painting lessons from Mrs. Carol Baran ( b.1939- d.2017), Art League of Madison, Madison, Alabama.


Mrs. Gawronski recently contacted Mrs. Jean W. Wood at her home studio. Mrs. Wood is now 91 years of age and still as charming as ever. We had a nice chat as we both enjoy sharing what other artists are doing.
Mrs. Gawronski has made friends with Mrs. Stacy Sparks, a portrait artist who resides in Madison, Alabama. She does pet portraits, and works in various media. She was commissioned to do my personal portrait which turned out beautifully.
