Vincent van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30 1853, died July 29 1890. He is classified as a post-Impressionistic painter known for paintings in bold, vivid colors. His display of strong emotion and raw beauty are also notable qualities in his paintings. He died at the young age of 37 from an infection from a gunshot wound generally believed to be self-inflicted, although no actual gun was ever recovered. Vincent was plagued for most of his life by severe anxiety and ongoing stints of mental illness. Many believe his intense mental ailments are what drove him to finally take his own life. His final few years are known to be his most creative and productive, and are the years that produced some of his most well known and respected paintings.
