I am a native of Illinois and became interested in drawing and painting in the 8th grade. My father worked for the Federal Government and was transferred to California. I lost interest in art when I moved to Sacramento, where I attended high school, graduating in 1965. Upon graduating I moved to Los Angeles, California, and attended UCLA.
I eventually moved back to Sacramento where I worked as a Police Officer in Folsom, CA, and attended Law School. After Law School, I went to work for the District Attorney's office in Yolo County. While there my interest in art was rekindled and I began drawing and painting again, which I continue to do today. I took several art classes at Sacramento City College and enrolled in the Evolve Artist's Academy to improve my understanding of the fundamentals of drawing, grisaille painting, color, and technique. I would describe my painting as a work in progress.
