David Gilmore, a retired rail engineer, started painting in oils at age 8. Today he works mainly in watercolour and acrylics. About 35 years ago he developed his keen interest in watercolour painting. Work took him to Asia and parts of Europe. While posted to London, UK from 2000-2005 he studied watercolour painting under Michael Chaplin, Brian Ryder, and Ian King. Several commissions were completed while in the UK.
