Jack became interested in photography when he was 10 years old when he was given the job of taking almost all of his families pictures. In high school he became interested in photographing biological specimens under the microscope, which he accomplished with a $10.00 microscope and a $5.00 camera. In college he studied Studio photography as well as Graphic Arts photography.
