Jackie, a pastel artist and woodcarver, resides in Grapeview, WA. Her education centered around ceramics and sculpture. She later studied the art of woodcarving under the tutelage of Alfed Durney in Petaluma, CA. Jackie is self taught in her current medium of pastel. She began working in pastels in 2001, after being inspired to paint while walking the local wetland trails.

Jackie is a member of an Artist owned gallery located in Bremerton, WA called Collective Visions, a Gallery of Art showcasing Professional West Sound Artists. Her artwork is continually on display at this gallery with new work exchanged monthly.

'As I walk the wetland trails or go exploring on a new beach, whenever something catches my eye I paint the image in my mind. Sometimes I sketch an idea, and I carry my camera for taking reference photos.I try to create landscapes that are compelling and bold with my selection and application of color. Yet my paintings remain serene and meditative. I always feel as if I am stepping into another world when I set foot on the trail - a place where I can catch my breath and enjoy the natural beauty around me.'

Jackie Bush-Turner joined Fine Art America on December 4th, 2009.
