Janet Biondi is a self-taught artist originally from New England. She is a graduate of College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine where she earned a B.A. in Human Ecology. Janet's studies included whale dissections and independent art studies. Upon graduating she melded two interests, marine mammals and art, painting whales and other marine mammals for the following 10 years. She exhibited and sold her work in galleries in Hawaii, Carmel and Tahoe, CA, Cape Cod, Aspen, at the International Mystic Maritime Museum show in CT and at the New Britain Museum of American Fine Art in CT.
In the 80's Janet exhibited with the nation's top marine mammal artists at the American Cetacean Society Whale Conference in Monterey, CA. In 1990, Biondi illustrated the award winning children's book, 'D is for Dolphin' published by Windom Books.
Today Janet paints landscape, seascapes and still life in oil and lives in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
