I was born in Tampa, Florida in 1970. I began painting and drawing in high school while also pursuing an interest in the theater. After high school I decided to attend NYU's Tisch School of the Arts for theater in the fall of 1988. After my first year, I decided to change my focus from acting to painting and after a brief break from school enrolled at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York.
