Jean Gauvreau was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He continues to call the Outouais region (Gatineau Qc) his home, and his paintings reflect the culture, and seasonal moods of the area. Early training includes high school art & technical drawing courses, and a diploma in Graphic Arts at Algonquin College. Jean began exhibiting his paintings both on the West Coast and Ottawa in the 1970's relying on positions as a graphic artist and Window Dresser to support himself.
