Jeffrey started his painting career by accident when he arrived
in a hippie commune in California in 1969 chasing The Summer Of Love.
He was on his break-away overseas adventure from Oz
and was hungry to experience everything life had to offer.
Broke in Berkeley, he started selling his brightly coloured batik paintings
to pay his way and this turned into a professional twenty-year obsession.
He hitch-hiked from Iceland to Morocco and New York to Panama.
He married on the Navaho Indian Reservation,
and paddled down the Rio de la Passion in the Guatemalan jungle in his dug-out canoe visiting the locals.
He returned to Australia in 1973 and built a Balinese artistís retreat at Tamborine.
