Jim has always been fascinated by light and color and studied them extensively. He received his BFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, where he later taught. Jim minored in printmaking, experimented with visual perception, used Ansel Adam's 'Zone System' and visited top photographers. He completed a 10 day intensive workshop with Minor White.
