This piece, originally inspired by an engraving by Martin Schongauer ( The Temptation of St. Anthony) was dedicated to the idea of releasing resistance. While the painting actually illustrates someone doing just the opposite. Jim worked on this piece, returning to it again and again making changes, over a period of many years before he felt satisfied with it. It is an amazing piece of work.
