Joan De Bot is a Dutch artist currently living in New York. She started her career as a painter of systematical art, large canvases filled with patterns and grids. After a period of free expressionism she set out to travel, painted and exhibited landscapes and cityscapes from the places she came across underway. When she visited Australia she fell in love with the wild, seemingly systematically organized Australian landscape and modern aboriginal art.
