Pictures have intrigued Jonathan Michael Bowman ever since he was a child growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Drawing pictures provided him with an escape from his childhood life of poverty. By the time he was 17, Jonathan and his family had lived in two homeless shelters, a church, and roach-infested public housing projects.
Using his affinity for images, Jonathan “pictured” a life of success and set out to achieve it. After obtaining his GED, he attended the local community college where – with one look through a camera’s viewfinder – he became hooked on photography. Enthralled, he studied photography as part of his undergraduate major in journalism and communications.
Jonathan later earned a law degree and enjoyed a successful career as a creative attorney and award-winning leader. Today, he pursues his favorite passions: public speaking, helping others become inspiring leaders, and photography.
Through photography, Jonathan captures up-close images of nature and architecture as well as far-reaching vistas of landscapes and cityscapes. His images reflect the aesthetics of everyday life, illustrating that you don’t need to go to an “exotic location” to find beauty. Instead, look for beauty in your own backyard.
