An Artist's Progress
Following her education at several major schools of art on the East Coast, Joy Bradley has for the past five years focused her formal training in fine art painting, graphic design, commercial art and digital photography. Her instruments of choice are high resolution Nikon Digital camera and image processing software on her computer. Her work has been frequently exhibited throughout the Midwest.
Joy strives to capture the essence of the scene she is framing by taking note of unique details that impart the feeling she is experiencing at the moment she operates the shutter. Seascapes, landscapes, and animals are primarily the subjects she chooses to capture, whether she is rendering them with her paint brushes or recording and modifying them with camera and computer.
Born and raised in coastal Maine, Joy loves her annual return visits to see friends and relatives and to enjoy the special ambiance of that famous rockbound shore. Having previously traveled extensively throughout the U.S., for the last 20 years she has resided in Omaha, NE with her husband.
Joy serves on the Board Of Directors of the Heron Haven Wetland Sanctuary in Omaha, NE., and Coordinator of the Heron Haven Camera Club. She tends to natural history, bird feeding, and patio garden exhibits at the Nature Center, thus helping to communicate to visitors the beauty of the plants and animals that thrive in this unique urban wetland. Her many hours of volunteering at Heron Haven have allowed her to capture the beautiful birds that migrate through or are year-round residents of this unique urban wetland.
Joy's goal is to keep capturing the beauty around her and through that medium, to make the public aware of the urgent need to preserve our few remaining unspoiled habitats so as to ensure the survival of all the animals that share this Earth with us.
