Paul Cezanne Gallery
Paul Cezanne - Born in Aix-en-Provence, France on January 19, 1839. His father was a prosperous banker that eventually left Paul a large sum of money. This gave him the financial security that most artist of that era didn’t have. He attended law school, as his father requested, also studying art. When he made the fateful choice of the artist life over his law studies, his father Louis-Auguste Cezanne was not happy with Paul’s decision but eventually came to accept and respect his sons choice. Cezanne died of pneumonia on October 22, 1906. His many phases in artistic style, seem to mirror the social and political changes in his lifetime. His true success and the full realization of his influence on artists and the art world did not arrive until later in his career.
