As an artist, I desire to give glory and honor to God, who is worthy, through my 'creations'. I work to make something that will cause the viewer to stop and take notice in awe of the one true God. No creativity, knowledge or understanding would exist without Him. Born in Cleveland, Tennessee and 30 years later, born-again by faith in Jesus Christ. My mom said I was drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil. Art lessons and College Art never clicked for me but I continued to draw and paint for fun. In 1999 I got serious about learning to teach drawing because there was a need for volunteers at a correctional institution for young men. I found the methods taught by Betty Edwards to be the very education I had searched for all my life. Her book 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' was the foundation for a 12 week beginner drawing course that I have enjoyed teaching to children and adults of many ages and backgrounds. In 2009 I finished my life work. A 3'x4' painting of New Jerusalem coming down from heaven as described in Revelation 21. The title of this painting is 'I've Got A Mansion Just Over The Hilltop' The original is not for sale but thanks to Fineartamerica, I can offer prints. Several years ago I was introduced to mosaic art and I enjoy this medium tremendously. I especially enjoy working with images of sea life and dragonflies. I presently have about 7 painting projects in keeping with my artist name 'Heavenpainter' I will post these as I finish them. The first two 'Mercy' and 'Truth' are smaller versions of the rest of the series size at 5'' square compared to 12'' square. Please browse my art gallery and leave comments as you are motivated. Thanks
