While most influenced by luminists Fitz Henry Lane and Martin Johnson Heade, she is also inspired by Edward Hopper and Richard Schmid. Working with Copley Master, Robert Scott Jackson for nearly twenty years, she has honed her skills as a fine artist. Travels to plein air workshops in Italy, Maine, Florida and Martha's Vineyard have created a body of work which includes varied landscape, still life and portraiture.
Ms. Roberts work has been on display at numerous shows at the Newburyport Art Association, Newburyport, MA ,The Artist's Muse, Amesbury, Ma and the All Island Art Show, Oak Bluffs, MA . She has won numerous awards including Best in Show, All Island Art Show on Martha's Vineyard , First Place in Oils and several honorary and merit awards at the same show. Also, Best in Show at the 2006 Winter Juried Art Show at the NAA, and First Prize in Oils at the All Island Art Show, Oak Bluffs MA in 2005.
