Maggi's bold paintings, whether abstract or representational, explode with color and reflect a passion for life, beauty, and the wildness of nature. They shine with a quality of mystery a poetic sensibility and depth that touches the beyond. I am inspired by being with a spiritual master, she explains. My paintings reflect the beauty and light of being on a quest.
Not surprisingly, Maggi is also a talented gardener and landscape designer who has created several large public parks and many more intimate romantic gardens. Many of her paintings are set in these gardens. They convey a sense of delight and ecstasy as well as inner calm, a tempest of color and a peaceful reflectiveness that is also the experience of anyone who visits these gardens.
Go to my website: maggisart.com and watch 'Garden of Inspiration' and 'Beauty and Abundance'. It will give you a glimpse of these gardens. It will be a delightful respite in your day.
I love laying down color and shape, she says. I love the suggestion of a subject, leaving the viewer plenty of room for interpretation and interaction with the painting.
The artist has shown at art fairs in Laguna Beach, Westwood, Santa Monica, and Marina Del Rey, California. She works almost exclusively with acrylics in her large abstracts. For smaller canvases, she often employs mixed media oil pastels, ink, and acrylics.
One of Maggi's art patrons said this about her work: Your art is a beautiful expression of who you are. Your vibrant colors, your daring wild brushstrokes, and your depth and creativity are inspirational.
Maggi strives for that in every painting, and greatly appreciates everyone who views her art. It gives me a thrill, she says. I enjoy seeing who visits the site and the comments are great!
