I am a Brazilian photographer and Portuguese citizen living in Germany.

Before I became active in photography I had first attended a painting on canvas course and after that I had 'Aesthetics and History of Art' classes (which included photography studies) when I went to University to study Journalism. My photographic activity started when I went to live in Israel and it became my main artistic expression after I moved to Ireland in 2008, where I met many photographers and models who I learned a lot with. Despite photographing mostly with film negatives, it was in Germany where I started working with pinhole cameras.

My attraction to photography is not much for technical and technological aspects (data or information) but for artistic contemplation. I try to transmit my contemplative experiences specially in my earlier works and pinhole photographs.

We live in a time which instead of thinking we calculate. We mistake calculation (information or data) for thinking because thinking demands knowledge and knowledge demands time for it to mature; the time we take to contemplate. I don't want to be a photographer who calculates my work from the tool perspective. I want to be a photographer who contemplates, and who expresses my contemplationing experiences; the abstract knowledge in everything.

For socioeconomic reasons (like most artists, I am far from being a good business and marketing person) my contemplation has been sacrificed nowadays; because contemplation demands quietness and time - which the anxiety to acquire money, in order to survive, forbids. I have hopes and worked to return to a state of mind and life stability, in order to become able to return to a deep contemplation and become prolific again; This is the theme I have been expressing in both my photographs and writings lately.

Thank you very much for supporting my work, which allows me to keep going on, and which allows me to keep thinking and gaining knowledge, opposing today's societies that focus only on the anxiety of information and correlation, instead of contemplation and knowledge.
