Frogs of Botswana

Frogs are small but very interesting animals. They are important Eco-indicators. Many of them have strange unusual behaviour, many are toxic. Some of them are notoriously difficult to find. They can hide and fool you with specially produced calls deceiving your ears – you think the call is from a different direction and from a different distance. Some species emerge just for few days after heavy rain in the desert and quickly disappear underground to wait for months or even years for the next opportunity to bread and eat. They are not well researched in Botswana. There might be new species hiding in the vast areas of the Kalahari. Frogging is a nice hobby – few days in a year only, during the rainy nights. The rest of the year you read and classify your findings.
