Since I can remember I've always been fascinated with the colors found in nature. Early in my childhood I loved to spend time outdoors playing and looking at colors and all forms of life. I loved to participate in arts at school. Most of my art knowledge and skills comes through independent study.
In 2000, I graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of PR with a BS in Liberal Studies and a Major in Commerce. After graduating, most of my career has been related to arts, marketing and technology. Art has been included in different roles of my life like painting in various mediums, working on graphic arts, web design and creative direction. In 2005, I completed a course in the Floral Oil painting technique.
I am very passionate about arts and I gain my main inspiration from nature. I love to paint floral scenes, landscapes, seascapes, still-life, animals and some abstracts and surreal too! My main medium is oil but I also work with acrylics and pastels.
I was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico and now I live in Manchester, NH with my husband Jermaine and my little dog Spot. I love to travel and wherever I go I take a camera with me to capture the beautiful scenes that inspire some of my work. Some of my earlier works are signed with my maiden name 'Maria Gonzalez'.
