I started out my artistic journey trying to make photorealistic drawings and paintings, but I started exploring other styles of representational art to expand my artistic repertoire. I looked to artists like Chuck Close and Henri Matisse, among others, who broke their subjects up into different patterns or grids while maintaining a degree of objectivity to their work.
