About the Artist. Mike Halem was born on November 12, 1960, in the ancient city of El Fayoum, Egypt, where the sands of history whisper stories of the past. After spending several years immersed in the rich cultures of Austria and Italy, he made his way to the United States in 1985, where he pursued his academic journey at the United States International University in San Diego.
