Mitchell R.Grosky is an award-winning fine arts photographer who specializes in landscape photography, as well as seascape, cityscape, and travel photography. Mr.Grosky is based in a small town in Central Massachusetts, which is the subject of his first major photography book, 'The North Quabbin and Beyond: A Photographic Tribute.' After years of specializing in wedding, portrait, scenic and travel photography, he now enjoys focusing on capturing beauty, character, and uniqueness in landscapes, cityscapes, and nature as he travels throughout New England, the rest of our glorious country, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, Russia, China, and Africa.

Mitch's work features the golden sunshine of late afternoons as well as the bright city lights of a Boston, New York, or Hong Kong skyline. His photographs showcase vibrant, highly-saturated, bold colors, and the intricate patterns and textures found in both the natural and man-made worlds. Though he works most often in color, his classic black and white photography also draws lavish praise for his use of light and shadow and nearly three-dimensional use of texture.

Highly acclaimed and respected for his photography, Mr. Grosky this year also began offering his work as digital paintings. He uses a variety of techniques and programs to simulate paintings in oil and watercolor. Mr. Grosky is an artist who has always been inspired by beauty--whether that beauty is the work of Nature or Humanity. Using his own photographs, he creates stylized and impressionistic interpretations of landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, flowers, and animals. He utilizes vibrant colors, bold shapes, interesting textures, and creative brush strokes in his work. In a time-intensive process, which is truly a labor of love, he uses as many as eight different professional photography and digital painting programs--experimenting with hundreds of brushstrokes, playing with subtleties of light and color, to transform each of his photographs into an impressionistic painting which is worthy of a very special place in your home--as a framed work of art, or especially as a museum-quality canvas.

Mitch's photographs have been featured on a wide variety of photographic or travel websites in the United States and in Europe. His work has appeared in newspapers and can be seen at art or craft fairs or in a variety of venues in local areas. Mr. Grosky's work has appeared in a number of photographic group and solo exhibitions. He is also a staff photographer for the universally celebrated 'Uniquely Quabbin' magazine.

Mitch makes use of his extensive background in education by offering a very personalized brand of basic and more advanced photography courses to both small groups and individuals. Workshops include understanding the basic and more advanced features of your camera, the rules of composition, the kinds of light, night photography, as well as the use and effects of different apertures, shutter speeds, white balance, and ISO's. Time and support is also given in the digital darkroom using programs ranging from Picasa to Lightroom to Photoshop.
