Born in a small village in Quebec, and later moving to Ontario, Moira developed a great love for the Canadian landscape. She majored in archeology at the University of Toronto. She has studied painting with the late Canadian artist and philosopher Kenneth G. Mills, at the Haliburton School of the Arts with John Joy, and with Greg Hindle at OCAD and privately in landscape and portraiture.
