My passion for art, animals and nature began at the age of three-and-a-half, when I drew my first picture: a daisy. I went on to study Art and Art History at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College, graduating with both a degree and a diploma.
My love of the natural beauty that surrounds us is the most significant inspiration for my work. There is so much to admire, reverence and appreciate in even the seemingly 'ordinary' things - the texture of grass, the intricate veins in the petal of a flower, the subtle hues in a rock. And then, of course, there are the countless wondrous creatures that share the earth with us.
I enjoy working in a variety of mediums, including pastel, pencil, acrylic and polymer clay. More recently I have been exploring the endless possibilities of using 'everyday' materials in mixed-media pieces.
In addition to art, I am also a writer and an educator. Other interests include gardening, cooking and baking, reading, singing, movies, nature walks and camping.
