Nabil Mokhtar is an Irish-Egyptian expressionist painter born in Alexandria. He lectured in architecture at the Fine Art College of Cairo before coming to Ireland to create crafts inspired by Celtic heritage and design, after falling in love with the architecture and aesthetics of Ancient Ireland, from the mysterious carved stones of Newgrange to the high crosses and the Book of Kells.
