The Quebec Battlefield series of drawings by Loth invoke the famous battles that occurred on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City in 1759 and 1760 between the British and French (Major General James Wolfe vs Lieutenant-General Louis-Joseph de Montcalm), and again in 1775 when the city was attacked by the Americans under the command of General Richard Montgomery and Colonel Benedict Arnold.
