My name is Nikolina Gorišek and I am a contemporary artist from Zagreb, Croatia. I’ve been doing various creative work for quite a while but painting is my biggest passion. I am a nature and sea lover so it’s only natural that those are my favourite motifs.
For me painting is a journey through different spaces, time, emotions, new discoveries. When painting, I surround myself with inspirational music, coffee, all my colorful paints, fuzzy brushes and lose myself in what I love. I am painting rather quickly and spontaneous, allowing my colors to flow and intermix unpredictably. Working on abstract paintings I approach my blank canvas without preconceptions of what the painting will be. I apply the paint liberally and loosely with brushes, palette knifes and my fingers creating layers and texture.
I always try to bring the joy of life, positivity and energy to all of my paintings, and my greatest success is when this energy and emotion is transfered through my paintings to people’s lives.
