iIndianapolis artist NORA SALLOWS paints commonplace objects and places and interprets them with her own unique vision. Her pieces are often romantic, sometimes idealized, renditions of how she wishes the world really was. Portraits present a sympathetic yet realistic view of her subject and the artist is well-known for her ability to capture the likeness and gesture of a model in a short time. Her plein air landscapes offer the viewer an escape or path into another world; a world of color and dramatic light. Her pets play an important role in her life and she is active in rescue group efforts, often donating time and paintings to animal rescue organizations.
Nora was a graphic designer and print communications rep before she turned to painting in the 1990's. She has been selling her work on line since 2004 and teaches workshops across the United States.
Her oil and pastel paintings have earned numerous awards and hang in collections throughout the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia.
Nora Sallows joined Fine Art America on January 4th, 2011.
