Pat Irish Amez is a native of San Francisco, California, raised during the Great Depression, the 1939-40 International Exposition, and World War II. While still a small child she had the opportunity to enjoy many art classes every weekend at the Treasure Island Exposition, thanks to her doting Aunt. Through high school and college she honed her creative eye, and eventually enrolled in SF College of Fine Arts (now SF Art Instute) during the heyday of the mid-1950's.
