Born Aberdeen, Scotland 1957. Studied at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen, 1975 - '79. Awarded a Young Artists Bursary 1983 and Amsterdam Studio Bursary 1989 by the Scottish Arts Council. Elected as a Professional Member of the Society of Scottish Artists. I live and paint in Edinburgh, Scotland. My work is inspired by the sea and sky around Scotland's varied coastlines. I try to capture the essence of my memories of the places I visit in an impressionistic and abstracted style.
