Underwater Photos
Photos taken underwater using a Nikonos-V film camera in the Caribbean. Nikonos cameras were developed by Nikon from the Calypso camera, originally design by Jacques-Yves Cousteau and the Belgian engineer Jean de Wouters . In their time, Nikonos cameras were the best professional underwater cameras available, and the 15mm f/2-8 underwater lens was a masterpiece of wide-angle lens design. Nikon also produced a 35 mm lens which could be used above water or below water and Nikonos cameras equipped with this lens were used extensively by war photographers during the Vietnam war. Nikonos cameras are still sold and used by underwater photographers, even though no digital version was ever created.
