“In my paintings, I try to bring those fleeting images I find in popular media into a more concrete image that can be more easily cemented into the mind. In recent years, I have been using the backdrop of the movie “The Wizard of Oz” as a springboard to connecting modern mythological ideologies with recent news media coverage. What I hope to accomplish is a fortifying of the abstract ideas and wild tangents that come from viewing a film, or a news report or even a fleeting glimpse of things displaced into a more concrete and sublime image.”
